THE YOGA CHANNEL AT SILVER STRAND BEACH

In line with the setting sun and facing the ocean is Silver Strand Beach's newest establishment, The Yoga Channel at Silverstrand Beach. Director Maribeth Hammond R.Y.T opened the doors in May 2002, bringing a wide variety of yoga classes to our community. The Yoga Channel at Silverstrand Beach has a class for everyone and every level, from beginning to experienced intermediate, seven days a week, mornings, afternoons and evenings. The Yoga Channel at Silverstrand Beach's instructors are highly qualified, attending to the individual needs of each student. In addition to group classes, Maribeth is available for PRIVATE SESSIONS. Maribeth Hammond R.Y.T completed intensive hatha yoga teacher training in 1987 and has taught in Los Angeles and Ventura counties for the past fifteen years. Her teaching promotes body alignment, flexibility, relaxation and spiritual health.

Maribeth Hammond, E-R.Y.T. 500, Director of The Yoga Channel, has earned recognition for the Yoga Alliance for her more than 5000 hours of yoga instruction. Maribeth brings to her classes body alignment, flexibility, spiritual awareness and serenity. She offers private sessions, corporate and individual stress reduction programs, Yoga Alliance approved teacher training and accredited (earns CEC's) specialty classes, including wellness, restorative and relaxation programs.

Don Steensma R.Y.T. began practicing yoga at age 53. Don leads a strong active class. He feels a daily yoga practice has changed his life and enjoys giving that gift of yoga to others.

 

 

Flea Ryder, R.Y.T. 200 Fun and challenging classes for adults and kids, Flea brings new energy to her classes.

 

 

Gillian Jones, R.Y.T. 200 is a certified Reiki Master bringing to her classes a combination of flexibility and spiritual awareness, encouraging students to focus on strengthening body, mind and soul.

Jeneth McClure, E-R.Y.T 500 has travelled to India to study with the lyengars and is a devoted student and practitioner. Jeneth brings to her teaching a deep love of yoga and concern for the individual.

 

 

Jeri Van Osten has a lighthearted, joyful style working with beginners, children and experienced students. Using elements from many schools, Jeri guides students toward strength and balance.

 

 

Josie Enfield, R.Y.T. 200 recognizes that for all ages, even kids, yoga is fun, builds self-esteem and muscle strength, increases flexibility, and helps quiet the mind. From Josie's classes you will have a smile in your hearts.

 

 

Margaret Remmen, R.Y.T. 200 includes relaxation poses and flowing asanas for strength and flexibility. A focus on the breath guides for students to find their own inner stillness and serenity.

 

 

Klara Lise Schoenfeld, R.Y.T. 200 - has been practicing yoga for over eight years. She has completed a 200 hour Teacher Training Foundation Course w/ Paul Dallaghan at Centered Yoga (RYS 200) in Thailand and is registered with Yoga Alliance. She has studied the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita and Sanskrit as well as pranayama advanced asana.

Lori (LB) Bates R.Y.T. 200 - began formally practicing and studying yoga in 2000. She completed her 200 hour teacher training with Maribeth Hammond in 2005. LB enjoys sharing her practice with others. She is also a certified massage therapist specializing in stress reduction.

Joy Koller - earned her R.Y.T 200 under Maribeth Hammond at the Yoga Channel. She combines a background in physical education with her knowledge in Metaphysics and interest in healing, to enrich body, mind and spirit.
