Jois in Mysore, India. The style emphasizes the importance of the
body-breath-mind connection and uses vinyasa - combined breath and
movement - to create a graceful flow through a progressive sequence
of postures. It builds strength and flexibility, while generating
an internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies the body. This
led class introduces students to the poses in the first series. Ashtanga
yoga is a strenuous discipline, for students with previous yoga experience. |
